Hoo boy.

So, Stanley has the Green Thumb. What is the Green Thumb, you ask?

It is the magical power to do quite a few things! Stanley uses it to make flowers mostly, but in the hands thumb of one with more imagination than he does (which is to say practically everybody), it can be pretty damn powerful with the potential to be downright broken.

From what we can see from the movie, these are the feats that one with the verdant non-finger is capable of:

- Able to grow plants.
To wit, just about any kind of plant you can imagine that doesn't break physics and suspension of disbelief over its knee. A solid surface is required as far as we know, but the Green Thumb can grow plants on anything it can touch, even other plants and people. Want to turn a desert into an orchard? You can do that. Want to put roses on the heads of everyone in a football stadium? You can do that. Want to build an entire town out of nothing but plants, make living bridges, make an army of Seymours, make tons of weed, reforest a forest, or use Vine Whip and Leech Seed? You can do all of that!

Not kidding about that Seymours bit either - if you will it the plants you grow can be intelligent and be able to walk, talk, and move like a normal person. Stanley likes to make those kinds of plants cause gee golly it gets lonely living in a place where everybody would effectively lynch you if you grew so much as a single petal. Needless to say, those kinds of plants for the purposes of Dramadramaduck are NPCs through and through and should never be considered to be canonical characters.

- Limited manipulation of inanimate objects.
With a touch you are able to repair broken objects and even turn them into similar things. By this I mean you can take a broken toy boat, stick it back together, and turn it into a sailboat. One that can fly, even! And yes, you can attach moving plants to it and let it act under its own power. In other words, you can make Monsters of the Week!

It wouldn't be a stretch to say, be able to turn piles of rubble back into a building, extend ladders, create escalators, and reenact your favourite mecha fight.

- Create dream worlds.
You can focus on the air and send yourself and other people into an illusionary world of your choosing. Think your own personal Holodeck from Star Trek. Of course, you are also able to dismiss the world and return to reality whenever you want.

Dream worlds are not actual worlds. This is not a worldhop and should not be treated as such. On the bright side, this means that giving out Green Thumbs doesn't require mod approval! :)b

- Resist and reverse petrification
If you, or someone near you, is getting turned to stone, the Green Thumb will allow you to undo the gradual stoning. If someone is a statue, the Green Thumb can turn them back to flesh with a touch. Softening statues may take a moment, however.

If the Green Thumb is so badass, why isn't Stanley?

In a nutshell, he's basically a hippie. He's cowardly and really doesn't like fighting and war and pain and all of that Shounen stuff. It doesn't help that he really likes flowers to the exclusion of everything else (a square patch of grass is the only thing he grows in the movie that isn't a flower, or has flowers, of some sort) and for a protagonist of a children's movie he is quite creatively stunted.

As I play him in Dramadramaduck and he begins to have new experiences and make new friends however, this may gradually change. He's a Good Troll at heart though, and the said traits of his will never leave him completely barring, temporarily, a virus or the like.

How much MP does the Green Thumb cost?

It appears to be free, as if it wasn't powerful enough already!

You mentioned that people other than Stanley can use the Green Thumb. Can you give me more details?

And now we come to the whole point of this post!

See, the Green Thumb, in Stanley's world, is an actual skill you can learn, as Gus demonstrates. Same exact appearance and sound and everything.

That means that if Stanley is able to get to you or you are able to get to him, he can teach you how to make your thumb glow green. Because I don't want my head to hurt, I have headcanoned that you need to be in the presence of a Green Thumb user in order to become one yourself, even if said user is turned to stone. You could say that the ability grows on you.

However, because epic Green Thumb is epic, this means that OMGWTFBBQ THIS CAN CANON AND PLOT DERAIL LIEK WHOA. Imagine what could happen if the Joker or Team Rocket had the Green Thumb.

Therefore, before I have Stanley offer to unlock god tier gardening skills (and he will), I must require three conditions to be met:

First, Stanley must be face to face with your character. No ifs, ands, or buts. You must either hop to his world or he must hop over to yours (keep in mind that he has no canon means of worldhopping).

Second, Stanley must like you, or at least must trust you enough, to teach you. The reasons why are obvious.

Third, you the mun must explicitly write down (not in chat, but in a post) that yes, you want your character to have a magic thumb of plantmaking. This is to avoid confusion, accusations of godmodding/OOCness/aforementioned derailment/other unpleasantness, and overpowered Mary Sueness.

What if I don't want Stanley to give my character a Green Thumb?

It won't happen! I can just have Stanley decide not to offer, or forget what he was going to say, or believe what your character says about why s/he can't make everything Absolutely Green.

If my character has a Green Thumb, could s/he teach other people?

Yes, s/he could! Keep in mind, however, that I only play Stanley and if someone else has a Green Thumb, what s/he does with it is out of my hands.

TL;DR Do you want Stanley to unlock epic plant powers y/n?
